the education world, which is principally dedicated to free (as in free speech)
software. It is collaboratively organized around three main issues: promotion,
dissemination and development of free software, enhancement of open source culture,
and an online platform of open services.

## For an open Internet

The use of free software and open standards on the Internet is the main purpose
of our project @:(html.dio).

Access to source code is the cornerstone of open source principles. @:color.soft
commits itself to place each application available in its projects under [free
license](https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.fr.html).

In case of improvement of the code, @:color.soft commits itself to place
the contribution under free license (compatible with the original license) and
will encourage any voluntary contribution from users by inviting them to enter
in contact with the author.

@:color.soft commits itself to make the source code accessible, whether
by publishing a link pointing to the official website of the application, or,
if the latter is no longer available, by publishing the code in question on a
repository.

Doing this, @:color.soft demonstrates its probity by allowing every user
to check the source code, to potentially improve it, and above all to ensure that
no unfair use will be made of his data, identity, or rights.

Users will then be able to knowingly use the available applications and learn
about all their features, advantages, limits and possible uses.

None of the data produced with the help of these applications belong to @:color.soft,
who does not apply any copyright nor censors your content. However, any content
that would be considered infringing or illegal by French law, once duly signaled,
will be immediately deleted.

## For a decentralized Internet

By offering open applications online, @:color.soft intends to promote alternative
solutions to proprietary applications that some companies propose in order to
achieve monopolies and make abusive use of personal data.

These alternatives are examples of the diversity of available open-source solutions
which can be used for personal or collective purpose. In this perspective, @:color.soft
is commited to foster their dissemination by publishing tutorials explaining how
to install these applications on your own server.

Equal access to these applications is a strong commitment: by offering them for
free, @:color.soft wishes to promote their use to the largest extent, and
to give a proof of concept that a decentralized and egalitarian Internet is possible.

## For an ethical Internet

The ethics of opensource software is about sharing and independence. @:color.soft
commits itself to never practice any censorship of the contents, nor any surveillance
of the actions of its users, and to never answer any administrative or authorities
demands without a formal legal request. In return, users commit themselves, in
production or hosting of their contents, to respect the frameworks provided by
law.

We do not practice any discrimation among users, so as to ensure the greatest
accessibility.

Personal data will not be exploited for commercial issues, or transmitted to a
third party, nor used for purposes that are not specified in the present charter.
However, users must be aware that their data might be rendered accessible, especially
when they make them public in the context of a collaborative application. In this
case, users remain responsible for their content.

## For an Internet of solidarity

@:color.soft is a not-for-profit. Its volunteers and employees devote their
time to ensure the continuity of the services offered to users. Our business model
is based on mutualisation of energies and costs. Our services are free, but it
does not mean they cost nothing. If a large number of supporters financially encouraged
@:color.soft to maintain its services, an even larger number of persons would
be able to use them, and they could even be improved.

@:color.soft has a popular education approach, and thus shares as much knowledge
as it can in order to promote the use of free software and teach users how to
install free services on their servers. Sharing technical and cognitive ressources
is what makes the Internet a common good, available for everyone and belonging
to no one.

FRAMASOFT is a non-profit organisation.
FRAMASOFT owns and oversees the trademarks for the names and logos of FRAMASOFT
as well as a other FRAMASOFT-related brands and softwares.

The softwares listed below are Free Software.
Their source code are available to download, modify and redistribute under a
Free Software license.
However, the software license does not cover the use of trademarks.
The proper use of FRAMASOFT trademarks is essential to inform users whether
or not the software stand behind products or services.

### Trademarks

FRAMASOFT owns the following trademarks in both word and logo form including
brands, slogans, styles:

- FRAMASOFT is a registered trademark in France under class 9, 16, 38, 41, 42 ; INPI number 4694656
- FRAMASOFT is a registered trademark in Europe under class 9, 16, 25, 35, 38, 41, 42 ; EUIPO number 3575587

### Objectives

The objective of this trademark policy is to clarify proper usage of FRAMASOFT’s
trademarks by third parties to prevent misuse that can confuse users about
products and services from FRAMASOFT.
At the same time, this policy encourages individuals, organisations and businesses
to work with FRAMASOFT under the terms of this policy and the code of conduct.

### When you shouldn’t use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks

Here are a few examples that conflict with the way we use our brands,
and would lead us to use trademark law to regulate abuse.
But quite apart from the legal issue, it’s also a question of common sense:

- Use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks in a company or organisation name:
seriously, do you want to impersonate us?
- Use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks as name of a product or service: some companies
would be delighted, but it’s really not a good idea because it would mean
advertising on our behalf… and you wouldn’t want anyone to speak on your
behalf, right?
- Use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks in a domain name, with or without commercial purposes,
including social media: a domain name is also a mark of identity,
and if you use one of our brands as a domain name, you’re misleading users
into thinking that the site or service belongs to Framasoft.

### When you can use the FRAMASOFT’s trademarks without asking permission

But there are many cases where you can use our brands! And we even encourage such uses:

- Communicating facts about FRAMASOFT and it’s projects without suggesting
sponsorship or endorsement.
- Advertising your product or service relating to FRAMASOFT and it’s projects
in a way that is not misleading.
- Describing that your software is based on a FRAMASOFT’s Software code
or it is compatible with your product.
- Displaying FRAMASOFT’s trademarks on your own website solely as a hyperlink
to a FRAMASOFT’s website.

And of course, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any doubts
or need specific permission. Our contact details are at the end of this statement.

### Finally, here are a few tips on how to use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks properly

- Use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks exact as shown. Any scaling must retain
the original proportions of the logo

- Use FRAMASOFT’s trademarks only as an adjective, never as a noun or verb.
Example: Framasoft’s Peertube app.
- Wherever appropriate, include a trademark attribution notice.

- Be careful not to suggest that any of our brands are affiliated with you
or any of your products or services.
Don’t forget that Framasoft is an independent organization.
- Sometimes our brands are usurped or used for slogans or advertising purposes,

4. You must not download or make available any content that infringes someone else’s

the use of the service, in our sole judgment.

### Editing and data sharing

### Closure

@:color.soft, in its sole discretion, has the right to suspend or terminate
your account and refuse any current or future use of the service. Termination
of the service will result in deactivation of access to your account, and the
restitution of all the contents.<br />@:color.soft reserves the right to
refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

@:color.soft also reserves the right to terminate your account if you
do not log into your account for a period longer than 6 months.

### Personal information

In accordance with article 34 of the law “Informatique et Libertés”, @:color.soft
guarantees the user a right to opposition, access and of correction on the personal
data concerning him. The user has the possibility to exercise this right by
using the [contact form](@:link.contact) available.

- To use certain services @:color.soft, you must create an account. @:color.soft
requests some personal information : a valid email address and a password that
is used to protect your account against unauthorized access. The “Last Name”
and “First Name” fields may be required for the correct operation of the software,
but it is not necessary that they reveal your true identity.
- Just like other online services, @:color.soft automatically saves certain
information about your use of the service such as account activity (example:
storage space occupied, number of entries, measures taken), the data displayed
or clicked (example: links, user interface elements), and other information
