could not exist if it wasn’t supported by an association founded in 2004.

The @:html.soft association is a 1901 not-for-profit association whose character

is above all a network of projects, of which the first, [directory @:color.libre](@:link.libre),
dates back to 2001.

These projects are run by people working together with the same desire: promote
digital freedoms.

Respect for the fundamental freedoms of users, guaranteed by legal contracts
(the [free licenses](@:link.wFreeLicense)), is at the heart of the
free software movement and ensures that the humans remain in control
of their digital tools.

@:html.soft’s goal is to offer, mainly online, a set of concrete and
practical tools to facilitate adoption:

- of free software (directory, USB sticks, installer…);
- of free cultural creations (blog, translation, publishing house…);
- of free services (more than 30 free services in the project @:html.dio).

Presented as a “gateway to the Free World”, the @:html.soft network wants
to position itself as a bridge between the free software community and the general

@:html.soft è soprattutto una rete di progetti, di cui il primo, [l’annuario @:color.libre](@:link.libre),
risale al 2001.

Questi progetti sono gestiti da persone che lavorano insieme con lo stesso
desiderio: promuovere le libertà digitali.

Il rispetto delle libertà fondamentali degli utenti, garantite da contratti
legali (le [licenze gratuite](@:link.wFreeLicense)), è al centro del
movimento del software libero e garantisce che l’elemento umano mantenga il controllo
sullo strumento digitale.

L’obbiettivo di @:html.soft è di offrire, soprattutto online, un insieme
di strumenti concreti e pratici per facilitare l’adozione:

- del software libero (annuarioy, chiavette USB, programma di installazione…);
- di creazioni culturali gratuite (blog, traduzione, casa editrice…);
- di servizi liberii (più di 30 servizi liberi nel progetto @:html.dio).

Presentato come un “portale verso il Mondo Libero”, la rete @:html.soft
vuole collocarsi come un ponte tra la comunità del sofwtare libero e il pubblico
generale.
