Instructions for translators

Guidelines

  • When in doubt, use the suggestion feature instead of changing the translation directly
  • Post a comment to discuss about translations
  • Feel free to ask clarification and context on a string

Components

Mobilizon has several modules that need to be translated:

  • Frontend: mostly what you see in the web app in your browser

  • Activity: every group activity log, that can be sent in emails

  • Backend errors: errors returned by the backend (for instance if the event lacks a title)

  • Backend: the rest of emails, server-side default configuration, push notifications, …

  • Search index: the global search engine

    The Android app and Android app metadata components are not maintained.

Formating

Frontend (frontend + search index components) and backend (everything else) parts use different formats to hold translations so you may encounter different ways to format strings when translating:

What’s Mobilizon?

Mobilizon is an online tool to help manage your events, your profiles and your groups.

- Your events
On Mobilizon you can create a detailed page for your event, publish and share it.
You can also search for events by keyword, place or date, participate in events (even without an account) and add them to your agenda.

- Your profiles
Setting up an account on a Mobilizon instance will allow you to create several profiles (i.e.: personal, professional, hobbies, activism, etc.), organise events and manage groups.
Before you create an account on an instance, don't forget to discover how this instance works by reading its “about” page, to better understand its rules and policies.

- Your groups
In Mobilizon, each group has a public page where you can consult the group’s latest posts and public events.
When invited to join a group, members can participate in discussions, and manage a common resource folder (i.e. links to a collaborative writing tool, a wiki, etc.)

- Dina evenemang
Med Mobilizon så kan du skapa en detaljerad sida för ditt evenemang, publicera och dela det.
Du kan också söka efter evenemang med nyckelord, plats eller datum, delta i evenemang (även utan ett konto) och lägga till dem i din agenda.

- Dina profiler
Att skaffa ett konto i en Mobilizon-instans kommer att tillåta dig att skapa flera profiler (t.ex: personligt, professionellt, hobbyer, aktivism, osv.), organisera evenemang och hantera grupper.
Innan du skapar ett konto på en instans, glöm då inte att upptäcka hur den här instansen fungerar genom att läsa dess “om”-sida för att bättre förstår dess regler och villkor.

- Dina grupper
I Mobilizon har varje grupp en offentlig sida där du kan konsultera gruppens senaste inlägg och offentliga evenemang.
När medlemmarna bjuds in att gå med i en grupp kan medlemmar delta i diskussioner och hantera en gemensam resursmapp (dvs länkar till ett verktyg för samarbetsskrivning, en wiki, osv.)
